This is the double disc DVD release of Celine Dion’s hugely successful show at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. This show marked Dion's return to concert performing following her throat surgery that resulted in a one-month hospitalization. There are no refunds after this point. Celine called it "A New Day" to reflect how she felt, having overcome her health problems and rediscovered her voice to perform concerts again, something she had looked forward to for so long. A New Day played in the United States and Canada in 2007, with more than 200 performances in front of nearly 2 million people before ending its North American tour on December 15th at Staples Center in Los Angeles. It was released on December 18, 2007. The DVD was released in France on March 9, 2008. The set includes "live" versions of her biggest hits, including "My Heart Will Go On" (which would later become the title song of the movie), "That's The Way It Is", "Because You Loved Me" and "All By Myself". For the first time ever, she performs her mega hit "'A New Day Has Come". The set also features new versions of popular songs from all her albums including a duet with Céline Dion and Josh Groban ("I Surrender", a collaboration from the duet album "These Are Special Times"). This performance was recorded live on Thursday, September 20, 2007. The set list includes the following songs: Encore:Disc 1 (DVD) Disc 2 (DVD) Bonus Material (DVD) The arena tour played to the largest audiences of Celine's career (over 1.2 million people during its first nine months). During the North American leg alone, Dion sold over 700,000 tickets at US$100 each and grossed over US$50 million. The tour was also a lucrative one for Live Nation; it brought in over US$100 million in revenue (a "nice windfall" according to CEO Michael Rapino). It sold out every city that the tour played, a feat that Live Nation had never accomplished before. After a 15-year break from touring, Celine Dion returned with her "A New Day..." residency, which she initially hoped would last three months. However, the demand for tickets proved overwhelming and it went on to become her second most successful tour ever after the previous record set in 1992. The residency included 27 shows at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas, starting September 16, 2007 and ending March 2, 2008. Celine said that she had been saving her voice while on tour and did not blame "the fans" for wanting to see some of their favorite songs from her albums perform live again. From those shows, Celine released a CD/DVD titled "A New Day...". The concert special had its American television premiere on NBC on January 3, 2008. The DVD has reached number one in the best-selling music video category during the first week of its release and has been certified platinum by the RIAA with over 1.2 million units sold; it became Canada’s highest-selling music DVD of all time and was adored by fans who rushed to buy it. It has also been one of the best-selling DVDs in France for five weeks (reaching triple platinum). cfa1e77820
